My City Hotel, Tallinn

Overview

We have stayed at the My City Hotel three times now and have always found it a very good, reasonably priced, comfortable and clean dog-friendly hotel in old Tallinn with private secure parking.

Location

Vana-Posti 11-13, 10146 Tallinn, Estonia. The hotel is situated within the city walls of Tallinn old town, which makes it easy to explore this part of town and enjoy the many sights, restaurants and bars.

Room Description

We have always stayed in the cheaper room class and have actually always been assigned the same room, so our knowledge is limited despite being here a few times. Nevertheless, we have always found it to serve our purposes very well as the room offered plenty of space, was very clean (but dated), offered a very comfortable bed with clean linen, a mini-fridge, TV, tea and coffee making facilities. The only negatives are the shower tap is in an annoying place and the adjustable central air conditioning may not get as cool as we like if it very hot. Overall, we were very happy with the room and found it great value for money, especially as breakfast is included.

Dog-Friendliness

Pet Fee: The charge for pets (as of March 2024) was €20 per night, which is average, but if you are staying longer than a night or two, it could be a bit expensive (see von Stackelberg hotel).

Room: There was no list of pet policies and we have never had a problem on checkout. The floor was carpeted, but as it was old and somewhat stained, we did not have to worry too much about hairs. As noted, water bowl and bed provided, but no snacks or poop bags.

Walking and Tinksing: The hotel is in a great location for walking your furry friends as there is a small park just around the corner and a bigger one just a little further away.

Parking: As of March 2024, parking was €20 per day/24 hours.

Summary

If you are looking for a reasonably priced yet comfortable and clean dog-friendly hotel in Tallinn’s old town, then My City Hotel is a great choice, especially if you need secure parking.
