Laivaravintola Suvi is one of a few “boat bars” in Tampere and ond of only two located in Laukontori (it is the original), a market square near the city’s main shopping and dining area. It’s completely dog-friendly, the owner is welcoming, and its location makes it a great spot for a sunny-day drink.
Though it doesn’t serve food, you can bring food bought in the market on board, and Suvi offers a solid drink selection: a few draft beers and ciders, many bottled and canned beers, a wide range of spirits, some cocktails, and wine by the glass or bottle. We sampled the draft beer (Karhu at the time) and a couple of bottled beers — all reasonably priced at around €6–€10, similar to regular Finnish bars.
Overall, Laivaravintola Suvi offers a laid-back, sunny setting with water views and good people-watching. If you’re in Tampere with your dog and want a relaxing, slightly unique place for a drink, it’s a great choice.
