Laivaravintola Suvi is one of a few “boat bars” in Tampere, but is the only one situated in Laukontori, a market square close to the main shopping and dining area Tampere. The bar does is totally dog-friendly, the owner is very welcoming, and given its location and setting, it is a very lovely place to go for a drink on a sunny day.
Laivaravintola Suvi (like Sisko ja sen Veli) does not serve food, but offers a good selection of drinks including a limited selection of draft beers and ciders, plenty of bottled and canned beers, a wide range of spirits, some cocktails, and wines by the glass or bottle.
We have only tried the draft beer (Karhu at the time of publishing) and a couple bottles of beer, but the other drinks all look good. The draft beer costs around €7 for half a litre and the bottles range from about €6 to €10. All the drinks are priced similar to what you would expect to pay in more regular bars and restaurants in Finland.
In summary, Laivaravintola Suvi has a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere, offers a nice place to take in the sun and enjoy surrounding water views, and is good for a bit of people watching. Therefore, if you (and your furry friend) are looking for a slightly unique and relaxing place for a drink or two on a sunny day in Tampere, this is a great option.
