Overview
Schnitzelhause is a warm, casual, and very dog-friendly (Koiraystävällinen) restaurant in Tampere, owned by the same Gastropub group that runs Tuulensuu and Sailor’s Bar & Grill. We’ve visited four times so far—once for a beer, once for a beer and Pintxos (during the yearly pintxos festival), once for a beer and Flammkuchen, and once for the same plus schnitzel—and each time we’ve been impressed. Everything from the service and atmosphere to the food and drinks has been very good. We love the schnitzel at Tuulensuu and were curious if it would be as good here—it was!

Atmosphere and Dog-Friendliness
Schnitzelhause is 100% dog-friendly, with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that suits both casual drinks and hearty meals. The staff have always been friendly and attentive, making us and our dog feel comfortable from the moment we arrive. It’s the kind of place you can happily settle into for a few hours, whether you’re here for dinner, a light bite, or just a pint of German beer.

Food
The food here is simple yet very good and clearly made with care. The Flammkuchen (German-style flatbread pizza) was crisp, flavourful, and a great sharing dish with drinks (although each time it was slightly different – see pics). The schnitzel—our favourite at Tuulensuu—was just as good here: tender, perfectly cooked, with a crisp, golden coating. Portions are generous, and the quality is consistently high.

Drinks
Schnitzelhause offers an excellent selection of German beers on tap and in bottles, all well-kept and served at the right temperature. The beer list is a real draw for anyone who appreciates quality brews, and everything we’ve tried so far has been very good.
