Overview
Piemonte is a lovely dog-friendly Italian restaurant located about 5–10 minutes from Tampere train station and Hämeenkatu. Serving Northern Italian-inspired cuisine in a stylish yet relaxed setting, it’s one of the few upscale Italian options in the city. Our visits—one dinner and a few stops during Tamperrada Pintxo Week—have left us impressed and eager to return.
Atmosphere & Dog-Friendliness
The interior is tastefully decorated and offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Dogs are welcome and it offers a comfortable and elegant place to enjoy a meal with or without your four-legged friend.
Food
The à la carte dinner menu is compact but well-designed, with changing seasonal dishes that keep things interesting. On our visit, we shared an antipasti of roasted vegetables and Mortadella—both excellent—and followed with a pasta, a risotto, and a perfectly cooked fish main. While the pasta and risotto featured similar wild mushrooms, each dish was flavorful and carefully prepared. Vegetarian options are available, but somewhat limited.
Drink
Piemonte offers a small but quality drinks list including crisp draught beers, well-chosen wines by the glass and bottle, and classic cocktails. Everything we tried was well served and complemented the food beautifully. We ended our meal with a couple of digestifs instead of dessert—an excellent choice.
Summary
Piemonte delivers a refined yet unpretentious Italian dining experience in Tampere. The food is well-executed, the drinks high quality, and the service is both friendly and professional. While the menu isn’t large or especially budget-friendly, it feels like good value given the quality and experience. Highly recommended, especially for those looking for dog-friendly fine dining in the city.
