Sijf, Traditional Dutch Bar (and Restaurant), Rotterdam

We have only been to this dog-friendly bar and restaurant in Rotterdam a couple times for beers in the afternoon, but we just wanted to list this wonderfully traditional bar here as it is dog-friendly (at least when not busy).

As you will see from the photos, the decor and atmosphere at Sijf are wonderful with a real old world Dutch charm. The bar gets extremely busy in the evenings (actually it was packed when we went by at about 5pm), so we have only been in the late morning/early afternoon for a quiet beer while soaking up the atmosphere. They have a good selection of draft beers plus an extensive selection of bottled and canned beers, plus various spirits and wines etc.

We have not tried the food, but I it gets good reviews elsewhere, and the menu, while limited, sounds good. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and have some very interesting sounding options including Broodjes, Bao, burgers, hot dogs, shrimp croquettes and Poké bowls.

To conclude, if you fancy a drink (and/or food) in a lovely old Dutch dog-friendly bar and restaurant in Rotterdam, the Sijf is a great choice. Sijf open from 9:30am to 12pm on weekdays and Sundays, and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Given its location, it is a great option for a pre-dinner drink before devouring some excellent Szechuan food at Spicy Temptation.
