Foodhallen (International Food Court), Rotterdam

We have only been to this dog-friendly food court in Rotterdam twice during our second trip to Rotterdam, and as we only snacked and had a few drinks, our experience is very limited. Nevertheless, much like other food halls/food courts we have visited, for example the ones in Amsterdam, Tallinn, and Lisbon, we found it a super interesting and fun place for snacks and drinks, but you could go for a more substantial meal.

The Foodhallen is located in central Rotterdam and has at least 12 venues offering the likes of tapas, pizzas, seafood, Japanese, Mexican, Korean and burgers. The website states there are 12 venues, but we are sure there are many more as we saw more than 12 and some of the places we ordered from are not listed.

This review does not describe even a fraction of the great offerings available, but as (a) we were surprised to find it was dog-friendly, and (b) we had a great experience, we thought a review was warranted.

In terms of food, on our first visit for a small lunch, we tried some delicious and very cheap fried fish and some very good Indian snacks. Then in the evening, we went to Sevilla Iberico Bar for some excellent drinks (beers, wines, gin, sherry, Spanish brandy) and great service before going for a fine (but not great) dinner at the welcoming and dog-friendly O’Pazzo Italian restaurant.

As is clear, our experience is extremely limited, but there are many choices so there should be something here to suit all tastes, and as noted on their website, they welcome dogs (on leashes). Therefore, whether you are looking for drinks, snacks, or a full meal, this dog-friendly food court in Rotterdam is a great and interesting option, especially if people in your group are each hankering for something different.

Just to note, the Foodhallen is open every day except Christmas day (Sunday – Thursday from 12:00 – 00:00 (kitchens untill 22:00) and Friday – Saturday from 12:00 – 01:00 (kitchens until 23:00).
