Overview
Antika is a cosy dog-friendly Greek restaurant in Tampere that blends classic Greek flavours with a surprising emphasis on steaks. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with staff who are both warm and attentive.
Atmosphere & Dog-Friendliness
The restaurant feels comfortable and inviting, with a laid-back charm. Service was excellent—staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, offered helpful menu recommendations, and were attentive without hovering. While the official dog policy isn’t clear, staff brought our dog a water bowl without hesitation, suggesting they are happy to welcome furry friends.
Food & Drink
The menu features a small but interesting selection of Greek starters and mains, along with several steak options that seem to be a specialty. On our visit, we started with a fresh and plentiful Greek salad served with warm pitta bread, and tasty dolmades with a feta-infused rice filling.
For mains, we shared two perfectly cooked fillet steaks: the Ifestos Pepper Steak with cognac cream sauce, roasted vegetables, and French fries, and the Agamemnon Steak with garlic herb butter, roasted vegetables, and parmesan-topped fries. Both steaks were tender, full of flavour, and among the best we’ve had—though the pepper sauce was a little sweet for our taste. Portions were generous, especially the fries.
Drinks included crisp, cold bottles of Greek beer and a smooth Ouzo to finish.
Summary
Antika is a great dog-friendly Greek restaurant in Tampere that offers excellent steaks, tasty Greek starters, friendly service, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It’s a little tucked away, but only a short walk from the station—and well worth finding.
