Ehe Maitse is a lovely little dog-friendly place in the center of Tallinn’s old town selling a great selection of Italian paninis and sandwiches, cold cuts, pastas, and other interesting dishes along with great beers and wines.
We have only been to this café/deli/wine bar a couple time, but given the excellent quality of the food and drinks, very reasonable prices, central location, and welcoming space for us and our dog, we will definitely be going back!
On our first visit in October 2023, we enjoyed two very well-prepared hot sandwiches (panini), a couple of delicious draft beers, and an excellent glass of red wine. As for the sandwiches, the bread was lovely and crispy and chewy, and the quality of the meat and vegetable fillings was excellent!! We were very tempted to try some of their other dishes such as the pastas, but did not want to fill up at lunchtime as we had dinner reservations at Han’s.
On other visits we just had some well served beers. Then, in June 2024 we had some nice beers and lovely glass of wine, and an excellent serving of Mortadella with bread. The mortadella was very good quality and the drizzle of olive oil and squeeze of lemon really made it pop! Delicious!
As noted, we were extremely happy to find this little gem and are very much looking forward to our next visit. The price for two excellent paninis, a couple of beers, and a glass of red wine was a ridiculously cheap €23.60. It was a similar price for a couple beers, a glass of red wine and the delicious mortadella and bread.
So, whether you have a pet or not, if you are looking for some light yet delicious Italian delicacies in the heart of Tallinn’s old town, Ehe Maitse is very highly recommended!
